With offices in New York, Los Angeles and London, Robert Marinelli has specialized in Interior Design, Architectural Renovations and Custom Furnishings for 25 years. His International clientele are not defined by their age, income or status but an appreciation for quality, comfort and style.
His emblematic interiors are not minimalistic or excessive but an eclectic balance that is timeless, spontaneous and always evolving. While he respects historical references, he is also a great enthusiast of iconic designs and emerging artisans. He likes to infuse his decors with a mix of striking materials and textures, grounded with muted color palettes and dramatic lighting. He has an intuitive approach to space planning and favors open rooms and informal furniture plans that offset architectural facets, letting in light that promotes a lifestyle of well being. Both classical and contemporary, Robert Marinelli’s interiors are serene, elegant and dramatic, but never typical or formulaic.
His past projects include apartments on Central Park West, the Upper West Side, and the Upper East side, a Villa in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a Penthouse Apartment in West Hollywood for a Hedge Fund Director, a Modernist Home in Beverly Hills for an Art Collector, a Country Estate in Connecticut, a Contemporary home on the Hudson River for a TV host. Current projects include an apartment on the Upper East Side and a Penthouse in Noho.
Marinelli studied Art and Architectural History and Business in Boston, London, Paris and later moved to Tokyo where he collaborated with prominent Development Corporations on specialized projects in Europe and Asia. He traveled extensively and was exposed to exceptional craftsmen who made remarkable custom furnishings for these projects. These specialized sources inspired him to assemble an extensive line of graceful, bespoke furniture.
After living abroad, Marinelli returned to New York and launched his first collection of furniture which was represented at the Washington and Boston Design Centers and at Nina Campbell in London. He was awarded the Best Overall Presentation at the International Decorex Show in Chicago and London. Marinelli also owned and operated his own multi-line design studio in New York’s Meatpacking District. One of the first visionaries to open his doors in the then undiscovered neighborhood, he showcased his classic modern furniture collection alongside a curated range of textiles, lighting, accessories and art. This gallery quickly became a downtown fixture, helping to make the area the premier destination that it has now become.
His designs and home furnishings have been featured in numerous publications including Luxe Magazine, Elle Decor, Architectural Digest, The New York Times, New York Magazine, The Chicago Tribune, Interior Design, Esquire, Marie Claire, Gourmet, HGTV, Better Homes & Gardens, Forbes, Martha Stewart Living, Hamptons Cottages and Gardens, Wallpaper and Dwell.
